Jon Paul "JP" Valadez
President
JP Valadez brings over 20 years of experience specializing in campaign and coalition management, government and political advocacy, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. He has managed award-winning media and communications campaigns for clients in the energy, education, healthcare, transportation, infrastructure, and nonprofit sectors.
Throughout his career, JP has shaped some of Illinois' most significant policy campaigns. In the Illinois House, he supported the legislative efforts to pass marriage equality and later joined ASGK/Kivvit, the communications firm that helped secure the bill's passage. He also helmed the effort to legalize adult-use cannabis in Illinois and while at Avoq, directed much of the firm's coalition advocacy campaigns and clean and renewable energy work.
JP also worked for the Illinois House of Representatives, where he developed communications, led legislative initiatives, and directed community outreach programs. As a regional coordinator, he collaborated with members across Chicago, the suburbs, and downstate Illinois, providing him with deep knowledge of the state's diverse constituencies and policy priorities.
JP grew up in the shadows of the steel mills on Chicago's Southeast Side, where his family worked in the factories that helped build the city. He established Valadez Public Affairs to honor his family's hard work and deep sense of community.
